This course is geared towards all employees working on a site (such as equipment operators, general laborers, and supervisory personnel,) engaged in hazardous substance removal or other activities, which expose or potentially expose workers to hazardous substances, and health hazards. They shall receive a minimum of 40 hours of instruction off site. The client has the responsibility is to provide a minimum of three days actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor to validate the certification.

Course topics include: Overview of 29 CFR 1910.120, Legislation, Rights and responsibilities, medical surveillance, Hazard identification systems, Common hazards, Toxicology, Monitoring, Personal protective equipment, Decontamination, Emergency procedures, Basic first aid, Incident response, Safety and Health plans, Incident command system, and hands on exercises. This class will also cover training based on the duties and functions to be performed by each employee.
